This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Act as an accounting specialist for clients on a project basis

• Manage customer projects effectively

• Develop XBRL mappings utilizing relevant taxonomies, line item concepts, axes, and members

• Analyze taxonomy guidelines to confirm tag selections and extensions

• Label financial statements, notes, schedules, and other necessary information

• Assess whether values signify points in time or periods of time, and categorize monetary values as debits or credits

• Utilize financial reporting knowledge across stock-based compensation, fair value, derivatives, pensions, income taxes, inventory, investments, property and equipment, comprehensive income, leases, revenue recognition, and accounting standards

• Keep updated on taxonomies, SEC regulations, XBRL requirements, and accounting standards

• Align financial statements, notes, and schedules with GAAP or IFRS taxonomies

• Examine accounting policies, statements, notes, and schedules to identify relevant accounting concepts

• Comprehend industry-specific accounting disclosures

• Track industry trends, accounting standards, and regulatory obligations

• Collaborate with Product Development, Sales, Marketing, and Learning & Development teams to enhance training and standardize modifications


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field

• Over 2 years of experience

• Preferred CPA or CIA certification

• Undergraduate Degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience in a related field

• Proven ability to complete projects on schedule, within budget, and to a high-quality standard

• Successful experience in a collaborative and cooperative team setting

• Sound knowledge of SEC and SEDAR reporting obligations

• Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP (or other applicable accounting standards) and financial reporting

• Ability to comprehend and interpret taxonomy structures

• Demonstrated self-motivation, initiative, execution, and consistent follow-through

• Capacity to accommodate contingencies, prioritize multiple and potentially overlapping customer needs, and plan filing dates

• Willingness to travel, with less than 10% travel anticipated for team and corporate meetings

• Reliable internet access when working remotely and not located in a Workiva office

• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a permanent basis

• Experience in a CPA firm or financial reporting setting is preferred
