PLM Functional Consultant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.

📋 Description

• Lead sessions to gather requirements for documenting existing and future business processes.

• Convert business requirements into functional specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria.

• Work in conjunction with solution architects and technical teams to ensure requirements align with PLM capabilities.

• Assist in functional, non-functional, integration, end-to-end, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).

• Create and maintain test strategies, test cases, and traceability matrices.

• Execute test scenarios, record defects, and collaborate with delivery teams to resolve issues.

• Contribute to the development of automated testing solutions and scripts.

• Support CRP sessions, demonstrations, and stakeholder walkthroughs.

• Help with data validation and migration testing efforts.

• Monitor and report on quality metrics, risks, and testing results.

• Produce user documentation and training resources while assisting with end-user preparation.

• Engage in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, and retrospectives.

• Collaborate with Product Owners, developers, and client stakeholders to ensure alignment and successful delivery.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 6 years of experience in PLM implementations.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).

• Hands-on experience in supporting system implementations, with a strong focus on testing and validation activities.

• Familiarity with PLM platforms, preferably Aras Innovator.

• Proven experience with enterprise testing practices, including QA and UAT execution.

• Capability to produce high-quality documentation, such as requirements, process flows, and test artifacts.

• Solid understanding of system integrations, data flows, and enterprise architecture principles.

• Practical knowledge of databases and data validation methods.

• Understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), particularly Agile delivery methodologies.

• Experience with automated testing tools and frameworks (e.g., TypeScript-based or similar solutions).

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for both technical and business audiences.

• Willingness to travel as necessary (25-50%).

• Preferred: hands-on experience with Aras Innovator or similar modern PLM platforms.

• Preferred: experience in implementing or supporting automated testing solutions in enterprise settings.

• Preferred: exposure to cloud and SaaS-based enterprise systems (e.g., Azure environments).

• Preferred: familiarity with version control tools like Git.

• Preferred: experience with AI-assisted tools for requirements analysis, testing, or productivity enhancement.

• Preferred: background in manufacturing, retail, or product development sectors.
