Scriptwriter – Localization

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Japan.

📋 Description

• Adapt and localize extensive episodic scripts from English to Japanese.

• Ensure the preservation of character voices, emotional resonance, pacing, and narrative intent while making the content feel authentic for Japanese audiences.

• Modify dialogue and scenes as necessary to reflect the nuances of Japanese language and culture.

• Maintain consistency across characters, storylines, terminology, and worldbuilding.

• Integrate feedback from global Content and Creative teams.

• Consistently deliver high-quality scripts on schedule.

⛳️ Requirements

• Professional experience in scriptwriting for TV, film, anime, audio drama, web fiction, or other long-form episodic storytelling is essential.

• A strong grasp of serialized storytelling, encompassing pacing, hooks, character development, emotional arcs, and cliffhangers.

• Native or near-native proficiency in Japanese writing and a strong command of professional English.

• Background in genres such as Fantasy, Romance, Drama, Thriller, Romantasy, or similar.

• Capability to creatively adapt content rather than merely translating it.

• Excellent attention to detail and the ability to maintain continuity throughout long-form narratives.

• Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced remote environment.

• Prior experience in localization or adapting international content.
