
Schoolwide Support Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Assist students with social-emotional learning and engagement initiatives.
• Offer one-on-one and small-group assistance to students who have been referred.
• Aid students in navigating the curriculum, implementing Back on Track Plans, completing assignments, and accessing additional resources.
• Create student support plans and conduct conferences with students and their families.
• Facilitate Continuing Care group sessions.
• Analyze survey data to identify at-risk students and coordinate necessary interventions.
• Track student progress and utilize data to guide decision-making.
• Provide resources for McKinney-Vento/Homeless and foster youth.
• Communicate student needs and progress to teachers, counselors, and administration.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation and record contact attempts.
• Assist in onboarding new students and families.
• Organize new-family sessions, welcome calls, orientations, help desks, and outreach activities.
• Ensure the functionality and activation of student, Learning Coach, and parent accounts.
• Aid in the preparation for state testing and develop assessment-taking strategies.
• Proctor STAR 360 and other school-wide assessments, both virtually and in person.
• Contribute to school-wide initiatives, continuous improvement efforts, and the Esports Program.
• Support or facilitate assemblies and other school-wide events.
• Conduct outreach for LCAP and engage with the community.
• Develop and maintain resources for students and their families.
• Assist with professional development opportunities.
• Attend assigned meetings, conferences, trainings, events, and activities.
• Perform additional duties as required by school needs.
• Must reside in the state of California.
• Strong knowledge of content and subject matter.
• Capability to support and guide both adults and students.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Outstanding writing and grammar proficiency.
• Flexible availability.
• Proficient in MS Excel, MS Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint, with professional experience in their use.
• Ability to work collaboratively within teams.
• Previous experience working with at-risk youth.
• Ability to understand and relate to the needs of new and returning students.
• Associate's Degree required.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience with student information systems and/or database software.
• Capability to moderate web meetings for both small and large groups.
• Willingness to travel during the school year within and between assigned geographic areas.
• Ability to occasionally lift and/or move items weighing up to 15 pounds.
• Participation in CalPERS.
