This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado.
• Respond to incoming calls in a courteous and helpful manner, utilizing interpretation services when necessary.
• Conduct information searches using available data sources to ensure accurate resolution of calls.
• Address requests from both internal and external customers, complete transactions, and escalate requests as needed.
• Schedule, reschedule, and cancel appointments in accordance with established guidelines, provider instructions, patient requests, and availability.
• Document actions taken, communicate updates, complete activity reports, and report any equipment malfunctions.
• Assess customer needs, respond to inquiries, research information, and resolve or appropriately refer requests.
• Tackle customer issues by researching solutions, implementing resolutions, and escalating unresolved matters.
• Inform customers about additional services and direct patients to relevant resources.
• Collect, verify, and update demographic, financial, guarantor, insurance, and patient information within practice management, electronic health record, and Denver Health applications.
• Execute computerized patient scheduling, gather insurance details, obtain pre-certification authorization, and secure benefit information to facilitate billing and payment.
• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• A minimum of two years of customer service or healthcare experience is required.
• Familiarity with a range of healthcare concepts, practices, and procedures.
• Exceptional customer service focus, interpersonal skills, listening abilities, verbal and written communication, problem-solving, and multitasking skills.
• Understanding of standardized procedures for scheduling, canceling, rescheduling, and attendance.
• Preferred knowledge of the Commercial Insurance referral and authorization processes.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
• Proficient in typing at a speed of 40 words per minute.
• Knowledgeable in PC applications (NT, Windows), healthcare software, and phone systems.
• Reliable cable-based home internet connection is required.
• Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug test for safety-sensitive positions following a conditional offer.
