SAP Consultant – Technical

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, enhance, and maintain SAP technical solutions utilizing ABAP and object-oriented ABAP.

• Analyze requirements, evaluate technical dependencies, and convert business needs into actionable solutions.

• Create technical specifications, data mappings, interface designs, and development documentation.

• Develop and debug programs and interfaces; conduct unit tests; assist with integration and user acceptance testing; address defects; and optimize performance.

• Produce technical documentation, operational guidelines, and training materials, and facilitate knowledge-transfer sessions.

• Assist with transport coordination, cutover rehearsals, production deployment, go-live, post-go-live stabilization, resolution of technical issues, and data validation.

• Cultivate expertise in ABAP, SAP S/4HANA, SAP integration technologies, and SNP transformation tools.

• Enhance reusable code, migration utilities, technical standards, and testing methodologies.

• Configure and implement technical transformation tasks using SNP software and methodologies, including data extraction, mapping, transformation, loading, and reconciliation.

• Collaborate on technical deliverables with project managers, functional consultants, SAP Basis teams, and integration teams.

• Provide task estimates, maintain delivery documentation, and participate in technical reviews.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent from an accredited institution, or three years of relevant experience in the specialty in lieu of each year of education.

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in Information Technology, including practical SAP technical development and delivery experience.

• Practical SAP technical consulting experience across SAP ECC and SAP S/4HANA environments.

• Solid understanding of ABAP and object-oriented ABAP, covering modular development, exception handling, debugging, and performance enhancement.

• Knowledge of SAP application architecture, relational data models, SAP Data Dictionary objects, and business process interdependencies.

• Experience in developing reports, interfaces, conversions, enhancements, forms, and workflows, including user exits, enhancement points, and BAdIs.

• Familiarity with SAP HANA-oriented development, including CDS views, optimized Open SQL, and knowledge of AMDP.

• Experience with IDocs, RFCs, BAPIs, APIs, and OData services.

• Knowledge of SAP Fiori, SAPUI5, SAP Gateway services, SAP BTP, and SAP Integration Suite.

• Experience with data extraction, mapping, transformation, loading, validation, and reconciliation in SAP migration initiatives.

• Strong skills in client interaction, analytical thinking, troubleshooting, communication, planning, and coordination.

• Experience in delivering SAP implementation or transformation projects, including S/4HANA migrations, system consolidations, or carve-outs.

• Familiarity with Agile or hybrid delivery environments.

• Comprehensive project lifecycle experience, encompassing requirements analysis, technical design, development, testing, data migration, cutover, go-live, and stabilization.

• Understanding of SAP transport management, background processing, authorization considerations, and collaboration with SAP Basis teams.

• Relevant SAP certifications are preferred.
