SAP Basis Consultant III

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Develop and oversee client SAP environments, which includes system installations, configurations, maintenance, performance monitoring, and troubleshooting.

• Execute system upgrades, migrations, integrations, and implement new SAP designs.

• Work collaboratively with clients and business stakeholders to gather and analyze requirements, converting them into technical specifications.

• Direct SAP solution design and implementation, including the development of Proof of Concept for new projects or add-ons.

• Offer advanced technical expertise and support across intricate SAP landscapes.

• Cooperate with OS and DB Administrators to enhance system performance.

• Oversee system performance, upgrades, corrections, CTS/TMS transport management, client and landscape strategies, and batch scheduling.

• Manage SAP user administration, security protocols, access controls, authentication mechanisms, security compliance, and performance monitoring.

• Conduct training sessions for end-users and client personnel.

• Create and maintain technical documentation related to SAP systems and processes.

• Identify and resolve intricate SAP technical issues by collaborating with technical teams and SAP support.

• Act as an escalation point for less experienced team members.

• Test and troubleshoot SAP Basis Services in accordance with documented business processes and requirements.

• Stay updated with SAP Basis functionalities, enhancements, and best practices, sharing knowledge with the broader team.

• Occasionally travel to client sites for on-site support or technical forums.

• Engage in quality assurance activities and protect sensitive information in line with security policies.

• Perform other related tasks as assigned by the direct supervisor.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field from an accredited college or university, with 3-5 years of experience in SAP Basis systems administration, including design/development, SAP system installation, upgrades, and performance tuning; or no degree with 7-10 years of relevant experience.

• Current CompTIA Security+ Certification is required; if not already obtained, certification must be acquired after selection for the position.

• Advanced knowledge of SAP Basis tools and processes, encompassing system builds, upgrades, client copies, OS, print, backup and recovery, and HA across ECC, S/4HANA, Fiori, and other SAP products.

• Must be a self-starter and problem solver, able to operate in a dynamic, fast-paced, and change-oriented environment.

• Capability to anticipate and troubleshoot complex issues.

• Ability to support, encourage, coach, and uphold accountability.

• Strong organizational and analytical skills, with keen attention to detail.

• Exceptional critical and analytical thinking abilities, successfully managing detailed processes and projects.

• Ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.

• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining a high level of quality and attention to detail.

• Limited travel is required, with less than 5% travel.

• Must be able to obtain and maintain an active government clearance; U.S. citizenship is required.

• Preferred: SAP Certified Technology Associate certifications, experience with the Department of Defense or Federal agency, SAP Basis workstream leadership or mentoring experience, experience in cloud-hosted SAP environments and cloud migration, SAP Solution Manager, High Availability and Disaster Recovery strategy experience, and familiarity with scripting or automation tools.
