This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Process patient orders while ensuring that documentation and delivery instructions are precise.
• Educate patients and caregivers on the use of equipment, addressing any service or equipment questions.
• Inform new patients about their rights and responsibilities, contact procedures, billing processes, and satisfaction surveys.
• Discuss insurance coverage options and facilitate the payment of patients’ financial obligations.
• Handle credit and debit card transactions using standard electronic tools.
• Collect patient or caregiver signatures on necessary documentation.
• Gather medical information and documentation to ensure complete, accurate, and timely processing of referrals.
• Secure physician order signatures and original prescriptions.
• Support promotional initiatives and compile referral source profile information.
• Enhance referral volume through promotion and cross-selling across business lines.
• Guide referral source staff on documentation and reimbursement protocols for Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance.
• Assist the sales team with orientations and in-services aimed at referral sources.
• Recommend alternative equipment or services in light of reimbursement constraints.
• Stay informed about the designated Health Systems’ and AdaptHealth electronic medical records.
• Collaborate with other departments to reduce delivery costs and ensure efficient customer service.
• Carry out other related tasks as assigned.
• A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
• A minimum of two (2) years of experience in healthcare, customer service, delivery personnel with a sales component, or entry-level sales is necessary.
• Previous experience in Home Medical Equipment (HME), Diabetic, or Wound Supply is preferred.
• A valid and unrestricted driver’s license is mandatory.
• Familiarity with services and products is essential.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills are required.
• Strong customer service abilities are a must.
• Capability to work independently as well as part of a team is important.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail are required.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects effectively.
• Mental alertness and the capacity to handle confidential information appropriately are crucial.
• Proficient computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office are necessary.
• Ability to comply with PPE, infection control, and hazardous materials handling procedures is essential.
• Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and functioning within HIPAA guidelines is required.
