This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +34 more states.
• You are the driving technical force behind every deal.
• You conduct discovery sessions, guide the platform evaluation, demonstrate the product, and take ownership of the proof-of-concept (POC), which is crucial for our success.
• You convert a client's migration risks into a detailed blast-radius map, address challenging technical objections, define the scope of work, and ensure a smooth transition to delivery.
• Facilitate technical discovery with data and platform leaders at regulated enterprises.
• Oversee the platform evaluation: assess the environment, evaluate complexity, and illustrate the migration blast radius.
• Manage demos and POCs from start to finish, as the SE-led POC serves as the key evidence in the sales process.
• Address technical objections (such as perimeter/security, cross-platform lineage, build vs. buy) with authority.
• Define the scope of engagements and transition to FormativGroup delivery while maintaining close involvement during implementation.
• Share insights gained from the field to influence product priorities.
• 3+ years of experience in technical pre-sales or solutions engineering, preferably in selling data or platform software to enterprise or regulated clients.
• 5+ years of extensive knowledge across both modern and legacy data stacks, including ETL/ELT (Talend, Informatica, DataStage), data warehouses and lakehouses (Snowflake, Databricks, Teradata), dbt, BI, lineage, and governance.
• The capability to execute a POC that builds trust, providing not just a demonstration but a solution to the customer’s actual problem.
• Ease of interaction with both technical teams and senior business stakeholders.
• Strong, organized communication skills; you prioritize clarity and lead with conclusions.
