This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +1 more state.
• Oversee and/or cultivate business within the designated regions of the Florida Panhandle, Southern Alabama, Louisiana, and Southern Mississippi.
• Relay sales progress updates to the sales team and higher-level managers.
• Optimize sales through specifications, distributors, contractors, and developers by engaging with key clients.
• Establish relationships, track major projects, and enhance product visibility and success.
• Frequently communicate with distributor sales and operations/specification staff and other irrigation professionals.
• Generate product demand to support distribution in achieving sales objectives.
• Implement customer training programs, trade shows, and promotional activities.
• Maintain the Hunter CRM software, including Salesforce, for the assigned territory.
• Provide field service and support as needed.
• Manage warranty policies and procedures when required.
• Suggest customer modifications and keep management informed of territory events and pertinent information.
• Notify management of significant changes impacting customers’ business landscapes.
• Recommend individual budget needs and oversee expenditures to remain within budget.
• Submit expense reimbursement requests in a timely manner.
• Aid in gathering market data for forecasts and reporting, including regional, competitive, contractor pricing, and area programs.
• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing, or landscape architecture is preferred.
• At least 5 years of relevant industry experience is preferred (in sales, installation, or a technical field).
• Familiarity with selling, pricing, marketing, and distribution models within the industry.
• Proficient selling and presentation skills, with a proven track record of achieving sales targets.
• Capability to articulate and sell the features and benefits of all Hunter products and conduct related training and educational sessions.
• Strong dedication to customer service.
• Technical knowledge of both company and competitor products.
• Competence in performing field service, troubleshooting systems, recommending solutions, and demonstrating product comparisons side-by-side.
• Understanding of financial and budgeting processes.
• Ability to manage expenses within budget constraints.
• Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills in English.
• Ability to foster and maintain positive working relationships while providing a high level of customer service and support.
• Willingness to travel extensively, reside in a strategic location within the territory, and work flexible hours.
• Basic computer proficiency, including knowledge of Windows programs, word processing, spreadsheets, and database management.
• Valid driver’s license and driving record that meets company insurance standards.
• Must possess or be capable of obtaining a valid passport.
• Advanced-level technical expertise and certifications relevant to the product are preferred.
• Fluency in additional languages commonly spoken in the region is preferred.
