This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +1 more state.
• Oversee and/or cultivate business within the designated area of the Florida Panhandle, Southern Alabama, Louisiana, and Southern Mississippi.
• Relay sales progress updates to the sales team and upper management.
• Concentrate on distribution, specification, contractor engagement, government agencies, training, and educational initiatives.
• Enhance sales by targeting specifications, distributors, contractors, and developers through outreach to key clients.
• Build relationships, track significant projects, and boost product visibility and success.
• Regularly engage with distributor sales, operations, specification teams, and other irrigation professionals.
• Generate product demand to support distributors in achieving sales objectives.
• Implement customer training sessions, participate in trade shows, and organize promotional activities.
• Maintain the Hunter CRM software, including Salesforce, for the designated territory.
• Provide field service and support as necessary.
• Manage warranty policies and procedures as required.
• Suggest customer modifications and keep management informed about territory developments and pertinent information.
• Notify management of significant changes impacting customer business health.
• Recommend individual budget needs and manage expenditures within the allocated budget.
• Submit timely requests for expense reimbursements.
• Assist in gathering market data for forecasting and reporting, which includes regional insights, competitive analysis, contractor pricing, and local programs.
• Candidates should be based in Mobile or Birmingham, AL, or Pensacola, FL.
• A bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing, or landscape architecture is preferred.
• At least 5 years of relevant industry experience is preferred, particularly in sales, installation, or a technical field.
• Understanding of selling, pricing, marketing, and distribution strategies within the industry.
• Strong sales and presentation abilities, with a proven track record of meeting sales targets.
• Capability to articulate and promote the features and benefits of Hunter products, as well as lead training and educational sessions.
• A strong dedication to customer service.
• Technical familiarity with the company and competitor products.
• Ability to provide field service, troubleshoot systems, recommend solutions, and perform side-by-side product demonstrations.
• Understanding of financial and budgeting processes.
• Capacity to manage expenses within the established budget.
• Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills in English.
• Ability to create and sustain positive working relationships while delivering high-quality customer service and support.
• Willingness to travel extensively, reside in a strategic location within the territory, and work flexible hours.
• Basic computer proficiency, including familiarity with Windows programs, word processing, spreadsheets, and database management.
• A valid driver's license and a driving record that meets company insurance standards.
• Must possess or be able to secure a valid passport.
• Preferred advanced-level technical expertise and certifications relevant to the products.
• Fluency in other languages commonly spoken in the region is preferred.
• Familiarity with regional business and cultural practices is preferred.
