
Sales District Leader – Twin Cities Metro

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Minnesota.
• Assist agency business owners who function as independent contractors.
• Provide coaching and advice to agency business owners on developing the district's profit and growth strategy.
• Recruit agency owners to join as captive agents.
• Drive performance outcomes for independent contractors.
• Align corporate strategy with agency operations and results.
• Offer guidance on sales outcomes and the execution of the state sales strategy.
• Help agency owners comprehend district profits while maintaining control over their businesses.
• Oversee company programs for individual independent agency business owners.
• Assist agency owners in identifying and prioritizing sales initiatives and market opportunities.
• Provide business knowledge to facilitate successful agency operations.
• Identify and select agency business owners to fill available positions.
• Cultivate relationships with agency owners and their staff.
• Report directly to the Minnesota State Director.
• Dedicate around 70% of time in the field, engaging with customers, agents, and agency staff directly.
• Participate in occasional office-based team meetings, training sessions, and cultural events.
• Take part in in-person New Employee Orientation at Madison, WI Headquarters or another American Family Insurance core location, with virtual delivery options available.
• Proven experience in delivering customer-focused solutions, support, and services.
• Basic understanding of business systems and their utilization for improved efficiency.
• Previous management experience or a record of leading project teams.
• Strong familiarity with project management methodologies, practices, tools, and techniques.
• Solid understanding of financial analysis and reporting.
• Past experience in developing and implementing operational business and marketing plans.
• Good grasp of budget management concepts.
• Previous experience in an agency setting or in a role influencing agency owners in the field is preferred.
• Must reside within the district; ideally in the Twin Cities Metro - Minneapolis / St. Paul, MN area.
• Required insurance licenses: Property and Casualty (personal lines authority does not qualify), Life, and Health.
• Must possess a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
• Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time.
• Successful completion of applicable background checks.
• Agreement to sign a non-disclosure agreement for proprietary information, trade secrets, and inventions.
