This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take ownership of Samsara’s sales compensation policy strategy, encompassing policies related to draws, leaves of absence, transfers, promotions, terminations, clawbacks, and windfall thresholds.
• Lead the annual policy roadmap and refine the compensation Terms & Conditions.
• Identify gaps, ambiguities, or policies that may hinder productivity.
• Develop and communicate crediting frameworks for complex and non-standard deals.
• Set guidelines for renewals versus net new ACV, overlays, specialist involvement, splits, and pod scenarios.
• Ensure accurate policy application throughout the compensation and quota change lifecycle.
• Design controls and auditing methods for system implementations and releases.
• Create and maintain governance materials, including a precedent library, case decision log, exception committee documents, and consistency audits for adjudication.
• Manage the exception process and translate recurring exceptions into modifications in policy and plan design.
• Oversee the sales compensation hub and produce field-facing enablement content.
• Advocate for and integrate Samsara’s cultural principles as the company expands globally and into new offices.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in analytical roles or a similar policy and process capacity.
• A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year institution.
• Proven experience in drafting or managing policy, process documentation, or governance frameworks.
• Familiarity with incentive compensation structures.
• Strong analytical abilities and logical reasoning skills.
• Good judgment in handling ambiguous cases that set precedents.
• Highly organized with outstanding attention to detail.
• Capable of managing multiple projects independently under tight deadlines.
• Proficient with AI and analytical tools such as Claude, Tableau, Salesforce, Google Sheets, and BigQuery, or a willingness to enhance skills in these areas.
• Comfortable navigating ambiguity and finding ways to improve efficiencies to boost sales.
• Fully fluent in English.
