Safety and Loss Prevention Consultant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Perform intricate risk assessments for insured properties and operations to guide underwriting decisions.

• Recognize potential risk exposures and develop strategic recommendations to mitigate identified risks.

• Analyze and interpret loss data to uncover patterns and create tailored loss prevention programs that meet client-specific needs.

• Offer advanced technical guidance and deliver training for clients on safety practices and regulatory compliance.

• Assess the effectiveness of loss control measures and implement strategic adjustments as necessary.

• May oversee the performance and coaching of staff.

• May be involved in decisions related to talent selection, development, and performance management of direct reports.

• Execute additional duties as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Risk Management and Insurance, Safety Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

• A minimum of 9 years of experience in loss control, risk management, or a related field within the property and casualty insurance sector.

• Completion of or ongoing progress toward a professional designation is preferred, such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Associate in Risk Management (ARM), Certified Fire Protection Specialist (CFPS), Certified Safety and Health Management (CSHMS), Associate Loss Control Management (ALCM), or Occupational Health and Safety Technician (OHST).

• Advanced analytical, risk assessment, and problem-solving capabilities.

• In-depth knowledge of company policies, industry laws, and regulations.

• Exceptional interpersonal and communication abilities.

• Results-oriented consultative skills.

• Strong analytical skills with the capacity to utilize data for situation analysis, problem identification, and effective solution development.
