SaaSOps Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Slovakia, +6 more countries.

📋 Description

• Design and modify Azure and AWS infrastructure using Terraform.

• Develop and manage GitHub Actions pipelines for application and infrastructure deployments.

• Provision, upgrade, and dismantle customer environments as required.

• Manage Windows Server (including Remote Desktop Services, IIS, Active Directory, and Group Policy) and SQL Server/Azure SQL, which entails patching, backups, restores, and performance optimization.

• Automate recurring operational tasks using PowerShell.

• Participate in on-call duties: monitor alerts related to customer impact, respond to incidents, identify root causes, and document the RCA.

• Implement least-privilege access, gather SOC 2 evidence, and ensure runbooks are up-to-date.

• Collaborate daily with Engineering, Support, and Security teams, reporting to the Director of SaaSOps and influencing the development, modification, and monitoring of the platform.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience as a cloud engineer managing production workloads (compute, managed databases, identity, networking) on Azure or AWS.

• Proven experience in deploying and modifying production infrastructure using Terraform through CI/CD pipelines that you have created or maintained.

• Proficient in writing PowerShell automation utilized in production environments.

• Experience with SQL Server or Azure SQL in a production setting, including backups, restores, and performance troubleshooting.

• Experienced in taking on-call responsibilities for production, resolving incidents from evidence to a single root cause, and producing a written RCA that a teammate can utilize without further questions.

• Available to work from 08:00 to 17:00 ET, Monday through Friday, and participate in the after-hours on-call rotation.

• Fluent in professional English at a C1 level or higher, both spoken and written.

• Eligible for engagement as an independent contractor, with the ability to commence work within one month of acceptance and no later than December 31, 2026.
