Ruby Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design and develop APIs, encompassing specifications, endpoints, data models, and protocols like REST and GraphQL.

• Contribute high-quality code for core services.

• Collaborate with the Technical Lead to perform code reviews and ensure optimal code quality, maintainability, and security.

• Work in close partnership with the Engineering Crew Lead and API Architect to assess solution design and deliver robust, scalable systems.

• Ensure smooth integration of APIs with internal systems, external applications, and third-party services.

• Advocate for the effective use of AI-driven tools throughout the API development lifecycle to enhance productivity and code quality.

• Create and maintain clear, comprehensive documentation for APIs, including usage instructions and best practices for consumers.

• Implement and enforce security best practices, including authentication, authorization, and encryption protocols.

• Collaborate with external engineering teams to ensure compliance with technical standards, governance requirements, compliance obligations, and ongoing cATO maintenance.

• Monitor and enhance API performance, reliability, and scalability.

• Manage API versioning and ensure backward compatibility as services evolve.

• Provide continuous support, troubleshoot production issues, and implement enhancements in response to stakeholder feedback.

• Participate in Tier 1 and Tier 2 on-call operations.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 6 years of substantial experience with Ruby on Rails.

• Proficient with relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL.

• Familiarity with the RSpec testing framework.

• Strong expertise in designing, building, and maintaining APIs.

• Ability to lead engineering teams while remaining actively involved in development.

• Public Trust Eligibility.

• Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, and Helm.

• Understanding of application security principles and secure development practices.

• Experience with Git version control.

• Familiarity with OAuth.

• Proficient in async job processing tools like Sidekiq.

• Experience with Spring Boot / Java.
