This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Massachusetts.
• Design, develop, test, and maintain software applications that support warehouse automation operations.
• Create services that coordinate autonomous mobile robot fleets, manage inventory movement, facilitate order fulfillment workflows, oversee workstation activities, allocate warehouse resources, and orchestrate and route tasks.
• Develop scalable APIs, event-driven services, and user-facing applications.
• Write clean, maintainable, and thoroughly tested code.
• Engage in architecture and design reviews.
• Construct highly available microservices and event-driven systems.
• Establish reliable communication between warehouse systems, robots, and external integrations.
• Design systems for resiliency, fault tolerance, and smooth recovery.
• Integrate warehouse execution software with robotic fleet management systems.
• Assist with task dispatching, route execution, status monitoring, and exception handling.
• Collaborate with teams in Robotics Engineering, Product Management, Quality Engineering, and Customer Operations.
• Validate software using digital twin environments and simulation-based testing.
• Support automated testing strategies.
• Monitor and optimize application performance.
• Investigate production incidents and implement corrective measures.
• Participate in on-call support rotations as necessary.
• Analyze operational metrics and identify opportunities for system improvements.
• Contribute to technical roadmaps and the evolution of architectural design.
• Enhance development processes, deployment pipelines, and engineering standards.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and frameworks.
• Mentor junior engineers and disseminate technical knowledge across teams.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Over 3 years of professional experience in software development.
• Strong expertise in Java or Kotlin.
• Familiarity with Flutter/Dart is a plus.
• Experience in building distributed systems and APIs, particularly with Kafka and MQTT.
• Knowledge of key-value stores like Redis and NoSQL.
• Understanding of software design principles and architectural patterns.
• Strong problem-solving and debugging abilities.
• Background in warehouse automation, logistics, supply chain, robotics, or industrial systems is preferred.
• Experience in constructing event-driven architectures is preferred.
• Familiarity with real-time operational systems is preferred.
• Knowledge of robotics platforms or fleet management systems is preferred.
• Experience with simulation environments or digital twins is preferred.
• Knowledge of optimization, routing, scheduling, or resource allocation systems is preferred.
