RN Pharmacy

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Tennessee.

📋 Description

• Utilize evidence-based tools to assess prescribed medications for patient safety and adherence to quality standards.

• Conduct clinical evaluations utilizing pharmacy reports and case files.

• Analyze clients’ psychosocial requirements, cultural factors, and support networks.

• Review patient medication usage and physician prescribing habits.

• Assess for overuse, underuse, and misuse of prescribed medications.

• Suggest testing to identify potential drug diversion issues.

• Determine the necessity for and propose alternative treatment options.

• Correspond with prescribing physicians and refer to physician advisors as needed.

• Negotiate the appropriate level and intensity of care based on medical and disability duration guidelines.

• Engage in discussions regarding modifications to pharmacy plans with providers.

• Consult with clients, nursing staff, and claims examiners about pharmacy matters.

• Execute drug utilization reviews through the pharmacy benefit manager or vendor.

• Communicate effectively with claims examiners, clients, vendors, supervisors, and other stakeholders.

• Uphold client privacy and confidentiality while fostering client safety and advocacy.

⛳️ Requirements

• Active unrestricted RN license in a state or territory of the United States is required.

• Minimum of four (4) years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.

• At least two (2) years of direct clinical care OR two (2) years of case management/utilization management experience.

• Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN) from an accredited college or university or equivalent work experience is preferred.

• Certification in case management, pharmacy, rehabilitation nursing, or a related specialty is highly preferred.

• Knowledge and experience in medical/clinical or rehabilitation care are essential.

• Proficiency in performing clinical assessments and drug utilization reviews.

• Capability to evaluate patient drug usage and physician prescribing practices.

• Skill in assessing overuse, underuse, and misuse of prescribed medications.

• Ability to negotiate changes to pharmacy plans with providers.

• Commitment to maintaining privacy and confidentiality, adhering to ethical, legal, accreditation, and regulatory standards.

• Proficient in computer keyboarding.

• Adequate hearing, vision, and verbal communication skills.

• Strong analytical and conceptual thinking abilities; excellent judgment and discretion; capacity to meet deadlines.
