Risk Analyst I

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pakistan.

📋 Description

• Gather, assess, and evaluate applicants' financial, demographic, and historical data and documentation, including balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements, bank statements, and credit reports.

• Maintain direct communication with clients and sales regarding the status of applications.

• Clarify the reasons and timing for any additional documents needed to evaluate client creditworthiness.

• Approve, deny, or request exceptions for applications in accordance with policy guidelines.

• Make quality decisions within the prescribed SLA timeframes.

• Conduct portfolio management and identify any suspicious or questionable items.

• Suggest improvements to policies and processes to reduce underwriting failure points.

• Carry out bank statement analysis, financial spreading, and risk ratio analysis, culminating in underwriting memos.

• Work collaboratively with sales, data science, product management, and other stakeholders to provide an exceptional customer experience.

⛳️ Requirements

• 2-5 years of underwriting experience in the financial services sector, high-growth payments, or a fintech organization.

• Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and analytical abilities.

• Capability to work autonomously and excel in a team-oriented environment.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Understanding of the fundamentals of financial risk assessment.

• Knowledge of the U.S. compliance, lending, and regulatory landscape, including KYC, Reg B, Reg Z, UDAAP, FCBA, and the Truth in Lending Act.

• Experience in both quantitative and qualitative analysis.

• Strong organizational and time management skills.

• Proven expertise in bank-based and financial underwriting.

• Demonstrated proficiency in mathematics and financial spreading.

• Authorization to receive and access commodities and technologies governed by U.S. Export Administration Regulations.
