This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Assist in the monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing processes.
• Support revenue recognition initiatives in compliance with ASC 606 and U.S. GAAP.
• Review customer contracts and relevant documentation to establish the appropriate revenue recognition treatment.
• Prepare and maintain revenue schedules and reconciliations, including deferred and recognized revenue.
• Create documentation that substantiates revenue recognition conclusions and journal entries.
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies between contracts, billing information, and associated accounting records.
• Assist with modifications to contracts and changes that affect revenue recognition.
• Support requests from internal and external auditors by preparing schedules and documentation.
• Collaborate with Finance, Billing, Sales, Operations, and other cross-functional teams to address revenue and billing inquiries.
• Enhance revenue accounting processes, controls, reporting, and documentation.
• Perform additional accounting and financial analyses or ad-hoc projects as required.
• Assist with the implementation of ERP systems.
• Report directly to the Revenue Recognition Manager.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• CPA eligible.
• 1–3 years of professional accounting experience.
• Practical knowledge and experience with ASC 606 revenue recognition.
• Experience handling non-standard, complex contracts.
• Understanding of U.S. GAAP and fundamental accounting principles.
• Strong skills in Microsoft Excel, including lookups and pivot tables.
• Excellent data analytical, reconciliation, and problem-solving capabilities.
• Ability to work independently and manage deadlines and competing priorities in a remote work setting.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• A mindset focused on continuous improvement and learning.
• Willingness to work in the Eastern Standard Time zone in the USA.
• Public accounting experience is preferred.
• Experience in technology, SaaS, software, cloud, or subscription-based industries is preferred.
• Familiarity with deferred revenue, contract assets, unbilled revenue, or recurring revenue models is preferred.
• Experience reviewing customer contracts for accounting implications is preferred.
• Experience with Oracle Fusion, SAP, or other major ERP systems is preferred.
• Experience with Salesforce or other CRM systems is preferred.
• Experience supporting financial statement audits is preferred.
