This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Connecticut, +5 more states.
• Lead the acquisition of new retirement plan sponsors, targeting plans with assets exceeding $50M.
• Develop and implement strategies for territory and prospecting to meet sales and AUM objectives.
• Identify, qualify, and nurture potential plan sponsors through outreach, referrals, networking, and consultant partnerships.
• Manage the entire sales process from initial contact to presentations, pricing discussions, contract negotiations, and closing.
• Build and enhance relationships with retirement plan consultants, advisors, brokers, and other influential entities.
• Position Lincoln Financial as the preferred provider of retirement solutions through engagement, education, and thought leadership initiatives.
• Conduct needs-based discovery sessions with plan sponsors.
• Present customized retirement solutions, including recordkeeping, investment options, managed accounts, and financial wellness services.
• Clearly communicate value propositions regarding fiduciary governance, plan outcomes, fee appropriateness, and participant engagement.
• Oversee a large geographic area and implement external wholesale sales initiatives.
• Conduct both in-person and virtual meetings, due diligence sessions, consultant updates, and sponsor industry events.
• Represent the organization at industry conferences, client gatherings, and networking events.
• Maintain an organized pipeline, tracking activities, and forecasting within CRM and sales reporting systems.
• Forecast sales activities and projected revenue.
• Manage expense budgets effectively.
• Collaborate with operations, product development, client service, core market, and consultant relations teams.
• Ensure that sold business transitions smoothly from the point of sale to implementation.
• Adhere to professionalism, ethical standards, compliance, policies, procedures, and cultural expectations.
• A minimum of 5+ years of experience in Defined Contribution retirement plan sales and/or relationship management.
• Bachelor's degree required, or equivalent professional experience (4 additional years of relevant experience can substitute for a degree).
• Must be able to obtain FINRA Series 6, Series 63, and Life & Health licenses within 120 days of hire.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Capability to communicate effectively with senior leaders both internally and externally.
• Strong presentation skills and a proven ability to influence stakeholders.
• Advanced relationship management capabilities.
• Willingness and ability to travel up to 50% of the time.
• Strong working knowledge of ERISA rules and regulatory requirements pertaining to retirement plans (preferred).
