This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Manage a diverse and complex portfolio of defined contribution retirement plans independently.

• Oversee necessary administration and client deliverables.

• Conduct and present annual compliance testing, contribution calculations, and governmental filings.

• Ensure accurate maintenance of plan, client, contact, workflow, and status information within CRM and administration systems.

• Act as the primary relationship contact for assigned clients.

• Proactively communicate regarding information requests, deadlines, results, necessary actions, plan matters, and service expectations.

• Build and sustain relationships with plan sponsors, financial advisors, CPAs, recordkeeping providers, and other service partners.

• Review benefit distributions and various plan transactions.

• Interpret plan documents and regulatory guidance, advising clients on plan administration, operational considerations, and plan design options.

• Analyze plan and client issues, identify risks or exceptions, evaluate solutions, and resolve problems or involve specialized resources.

• Lead client meetings, conveying technical findings, recommendations, responsibilities, and subsequent actions.

• Monitor recurring and project-based deadlines, following up on necessary data and decisions.

• Collaborate with Operations, Compliance, Client Experience, and other internal teams.

• Communicate significant issues, exceptions, service risks, or delays to the relevant resources.

• Adhere to policies, procedures, quality standards, and internal controls while safeguarding confidential information.

• Maintain technical expertise through ongoing education.

• Share knowledge, provide peer support, and offer informal guidance to Associate Retirement Plan Consultants.

• Achieve service, processing, quality, productivity, and client-retention objectives.

• Undertake other related responsibilities and projects as assigned.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree preferred; relevant work experience may be accepted in lieu.

• 4+ years of progressive experience in defined contribution retirement plan administration.

• Required experience in independently managing a client-facing block of business.

• Industry-related credential from ASPPA, NIPA, or a similar organization is preferred.

• Experience in interpreting plan documents, managing annual administration and regulatory deliverables, resolving complex plan issues, and maintaining client relationships.

• Strong knowledge of defined contribution retirement plan administration and applicable ERISA and Internal Revenue Code requirements.

• Ability to read and interpret retirement plan documents, apply regulatory guidance, and resolve varied or complex administration issues.

• Excellent consulting, client-service, and relationship-management skills.

• Capability to analyze problems, evaluate potential solutions, and appropriately escalate significant risks.

• Effective collaboration, analytical thinking, problem-solving, organizational, and time-management abilities.

• Proficient in independently managing a varied or complex plan load, competing priorities, regulatory deadlines, and client expectations.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to clearly explain technical matters.

• Strong attention to detail, accountability, follow-through, and commitment to consistent service and quality.

• Proficient working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and retirement administration, CRM, workflow, and collaboration systems.

• Must possess authorization to work in the US.
