Retinal Camera Operator – Eye Exam Specialist, Ophthalmology

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Tennessee.

📋 Description

• Conduct scheduled diabetic eye examinations and retinal screenings for members at provider locations.

• Travel to provider offices and patient residences for pre-arranged appointments.

• Operate retinal imaging equipment provided by the company.

• Complete training on retinal imaging devices and eye examination procedures prior to performing exams autonomously.

• Maintain proficiency through continuous training.

• Manage daily schedules for eye examination appointments.

• Confirm appointments with both practices and patients.

• Coordinate travel arrangements.

• Assist in closing gaps related to eye exams and associated quality measures.

• Engage with team members, internal partners, customers, providers, payers, and care teams virtually on non-appointment days.

• Establish and nurture working relationships with stakeholders.

• Support initiatives for quality improvement, reporting, patient outreach, and customer success.

• Carry out other assigned responsibilities.


⛳️ Requirements

• Willingness and capability to travel daily, up to 100%, to provider practices in the Nashville, TN region.

• Must reside in the local area.

• Possess a valid driver’s license and have reliable transportation.

• Hold an Associate degree or higher in a related discipline.

• Have a minimum of 1–3 years of experience in a healthcare environment.

• Familiarity with medical terminology, quality metrics, medical billing, or coding.

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, Teams, and healthcare-related systems or applications.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Strong attention to detail and organizational capabilities.

• Ability to adhere to strict deadlines.

• Capable of effective collaboration with management, co-workers, customers, providers, payers, and care teams.

• Ability to work independently in a remote setting.

• Desired credentials include certification or licensure as a healthcare professional, such as CMA or LPN.
