Retinal Camera Operator – Eye Exam Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Conduct scheduled diabetic eye examinations and retinal screenings for members at provider facilities.

• Travel to provider offices and patients' homes for prearranged appointments.

• Operate retinal imaging equipment supplied by the company.

• Assist in closing quality gaps related to eye exams.

• Complete the training provided by the company prior to conducting independent exams.

• Maintain proficiency through ongoing training as required.

• Oversee daily scheduling of eye exam appointments.

• Confirm appointments with both practices and patients in advance.

• Organize travel arrangements.

• Engage virtually with team members, internal partners, customers, providers, payers, and care teams on non-appointment days.

• Develop and nurture strong working relationships with stakeholders.

• Execute duties that support quality improvement, reporting, patient outreach, and customer success.

• Carry out additional responsibilities as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• Willingness and ability to travel daily, up to 100%, to provider practices in the Houston, TX area.

• Must be a local resident of the Houston, TX area.

• Previous experience in eye exams or imaging is not necessary; comprehensive training and equipment will be provided.

• Valid driver's license and dependable transportation are required.

• An associate degree or higher in a related field is necessary.

• A minimum of 1–3 years of experience in a healthcare environment is required.

• Familiarity with medical terminology, quality measures, medical billing, or coding is preferred.

• Proficient in using Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, Teams, and various healthcare-related systems or applications.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.

• Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities are necessary.

• Capability to meet strict deadlines.

• Ability to collaborate effectively with management, colleagues, customers, providers, payers, and care teams.

• Ability to work independently in a remote setting.

• Required internet speed of at least 100 Mbps download and 10 Mbps upload.

• Ability to safeguard PHI, PII, and company intellectual property while adhering to security policies.

• Certification or licensure as a healthcare professional, such as CMA or LPN, is preferred.
