Retinal Camera Operator – Eye Exam Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pennsylvania.

📋 Description

• Conduct scheduled diabetic eye examinations and retinal screenings for members at healthcare provider locations.

• Travel to both provider practices and patient residences for pre-arranged eye exam appointments.

• Utilize company-issued retinal imaging devices.

• Assist in addressing eye exam and related quality deficiencies.

• Complete the training provided by the company on retinal imaging technology and eye examination procedures before independently conducting exams.

• Maintain proficiency through continuous training as required.

• Oversee a daily schedule of eye exam appointments.

• Confirm appointments with both practices and patients ahead of time.

• Organize travel arrangements.

• Develop and sustain relationships with colleagues, customers, providers, payers, and care teams.

• Engage with team members and partners virtually on days without appointments.

• Undertake responsibilities related to quality enhancement, reporting, patient outreach, and customer satisfaction.

⛳️ Requirements

• Willingness and capability to travel daily, up to 100%, to provider locations.

• No previous experience in eye examinations or imaging is necessary; comprehensive training and equipment will be provided.

• Must possess a valid driver’s license and dependable transportation.

• An associate degree or higher in a relevant field is required.

• A minimum of 1–3 years of experience in a healthcare environment.

• Familiarity with medical terminology, quality metrics, medical billing, or coding is preferred.

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, Teams, and healthcare-related software or applications.

• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

• Capability to meet strict deadlines.

• Ability to effectively collaborate with management, colleagues, customers, providers, payers, and care teams.

• Capacity to work independently in a remote setting.

• Employees are required to provide their own internet connection with a minimum speed of 100 Mbps download and 10 Mbps upload.

• Adherence to security policies and procedures for protecting PHI, PII, and company intellectual property is mandatory.

• Having a certified or licensed healthcare professional credential, such as CMA or LPN, is a plus.
