This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama.
• Conduct scheduled diabetic eye examinations and retinal screenings for members at healthcare provider locations.
• Travel to provider offices and patient residences for planned eye exam appointments.
• Utilize company-supplied retinal imaging devices.
• Assist in addressing gaps in eye exam quality and closure.
• Complete company-mandated training prior to performing exams independently.
• Ensure ongoing proficiency through continual training as required.
• Oversee a daily schedule of eye exam appointments.
• Verify appointments with both practices and patients ahead of time.
• Organize travel arrangements.
• Collaborate virtually with team members, internal partners, clients, providers, payers, and care teams during non-appointment days.
• Establish and nurture robust working relationships with stakeholders.
• Assist in quality improvement initiatives, reporting, patient outreach, and customer success efforts.
• Adhere to security protocols and procedures to safeguard PHI, PII, and company intellectual property.
• Willingness and capability to travel daily, up to 100%, to various provider practices.
• Must be a local resident of the Birmingham, AL region.
• No previous experience in eye examinations or imaging is necessary; comprehensive training and equipment will be provided.
• A valid driver's license and dependable transportation are required.
• An associate degree or higher in a relevant field is needed.
• A minimum of 1–3 years of experience in a healthcare environment is preferred.
• Familiarity with medical terminology, quality measures, medical billing, or coding is beneficial.
• Competence in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, Teams, and various healthcare-related systems or applications is essential.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities are required.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills are necessary.
• Capability to meet strict deadlines is essential.
• Ability to work collaboratively with management, colleagues, clients, providers, payers, and care teams is important.
• Must be able to work independently in a remote setting.
• A stable internet connection with a minimum of 100 Mbps download and 10 Mbps upload speed is required.
• Travel to and from appointments is reimbursed by the company.
• Mileage reimbursement follows IRS guidelines.
• Flexibility for fully remote work.
