
Restoration Sales – Emergency Response Coordinator

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia, +1 more state.
• Respond promptly to incidents involving fire, water, mold, storms, and significant property damages.
• Evaluate on-site damage and offer emergency mitigation and restoration services.
• Assist distressed property owners in navigating the next steps with clarity, confidence, and empathy.
• Obtain signed work authorizations and contracts in high-pressure scenarios.
• Inform customers about the insurance process and establish Merit as their trusted ally.
• Convert emergency inquiries into signed contracts through effective on-site sales execution.
• Monitor close rates, signed agreements, and pipeline activity.
• Record site visits, photographs, notes, and customer interactions in HubSpot and DASH CRM systems.
• Foster relationships with first responders, plumbers, emergency service providers, property managers, and insurance adjusters.
• Act as a representative of Merit on-site for property owners and industry associates.
• Engage in community outreach and the development of a referral network.
• Transition signed jobs to Project Managers and mitigation teams.
• Coordinate dispatch and coverage with fellow Emergency Response Coordinators for round-the-clock response.
• Communicate effectively to ensure a smooth transition from sales to production.
• Provide or assist with basic emergency services, such as board-ups, when necessary.
• Operate safely in active loss environments, including areas that may be damaged or hazardous.
• Previous experience in restoration, construction, insurance, or outside sales is preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to perform in fast-paced, high-pressure settings.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Comfortable collecting, documenting, and transmitting critical information to adjusters, Project Managers, and clients.
• Willingness to rapidly learn about the restoration industry if not already knowledgeable.
• Compassionate and emotionally intelligent, able to connect with individuals in crisis.
• Composed, focused, and decisive under pressure.
• Confident in presenting value and soliciting commitment.
• Responsible; takes ownership of performance metrics, follows through, and communicates effectively.
• Energetic, driven, and comfortable working independently in the field.
• Self-motivated, disciplined, and results-oriented, with strong organizational skills and excellent follow-through.
• Strong decision-making abilities with accountability for outcomes.
• Availability for 24/7/365 emergency response.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving history.
• Physically capable of working in the field, including lifting up to 25 lbs and exposure to weather, debris, and active loss situations.
• Able to access damaged structures as necessary.
• Availability during evenings, weekends, overnight, and holidays is required.
• Willingness to cover emergency leads within the designated region and support team coverage as needed.
• Primary coverage area includes Northern Virginia and West Virginia.
