Resource Consultant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Guide, mentor, teach, and provide support to individuals, elderly participants, and those with disabilities utilizing Personal Options services.

• Conduct home visits with participants at least every six months.

• Exhibit knowledge and proficiency in Personal Options services, relevant West Virginia waiver programs, and Palco policies.

• Inform participants and their designated representatives about program rights, responsibilities, and potential risks.

• Assess and monitor participants’ capacity to engage in the program.

• Assist in the creation and revision of service/spending plans.

• Oversee the utilization of service/spending plans.

• Address and report any complaints, grievances, and incidents as required.

• Serve as a mandatory reporter for any suspected abuse, neglect, or exploitation.

• Record participant visits and interactions using a company-issued laptop.

• Log events and generate reports electronically.

• Execute daily administrative responsibilities, such as scheduling visits and responding to company communications.

• Adhere to Palco operational protocols.

• Assist new Resource Consultants by shadowing and participating in mandatory training sessions.

• Relay new information to assigned participants.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of three years of experience interacting with the public is essential.

• High School Diploma or equivalent is mandatory.

• Preferred experience includes roles such as patient navigator, community connector, community health worker, lay health advisor, health educator, or case manager.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.

• Capability to document visits electronically is necessary.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Microsoft Outlook, and the Internet is expected.

• Strong problem-solving abilities are essential.

• Willingness to travel within a designated region to meet participants at their homes is required.

• Openness to working with individuals of all ages and disabilities is necessary.

• A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation is a must.

• An active prepaid or contract cell phone plan for ongoing communication is required.

• Ability to pass a criminal background check and maltreatment check is essential.
