This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Generate reports tailored to the requirements of Trellis Strategies clients
• Execute qualitative research initiatives
• Assist researchers as part of project teams
• Administer survey tools and carry out interviews and focus groups
• Code transcripts and associated data
• Utilize MS Excel and similar applications to query both internal and public databases, creating reports and databases
• Conduct quality control measures, including reconciling and proofreading reports
• Lead standard qualitative research projects
• Explore publicly available databases and conduct landscape evaluations
• Compose reports on best practices concerning postsecondary education and workforce development
• Develop and suggest research and data management methodologies
• Acquire, organize, analyze, and present data
• Perform quality control assessments on team reports
• Manage data sets and execute data cleaning processes
• Construct tables using MS Excel
• Create communication tools, research briefs, and social media outreach strategies
• Contribute to both project and informal research teams
• Assist in recruitment for large-scale research projects through participant engagement, client correspondence, and tracking recruitment
• Employ AI tools for transcription, preliminary coding, and landscape analysis while ensuring compliance with data privacy, confidentiality, and IRB standards
• Address internal and external requests for ad hoc reports
• Participate in strategic initiatives and bolster departmental functions
• Bachelor's degree in business administration, social sciences, or a related field
• One (1) year of experience in student success research or two (2) years in another social science or policy area
• Three (3) years of experience in data reporting, which includes written analysis, table and graph creation, and delivering verbal presentations to management
• Graduate education in business administration or social sciences may be considered as a substitute on a year-for-year basis for the three (3) years of data and management reporting
• Proficient in using AI-enabled tools and technologies
• Excellent communication and writing abilities
• Strong analytical and qualitative research capabilities
• Competent in utilizing qualitative analytical tools such as MAXQDA and Atlas.ti
• Advanced skills in MS Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Proficient in data reporting
• Awareness and understanding of issues affecting college student success and financial challenges
• Effective time management skills
• High attention to detail
• Familiarity with higher education public policy
• Capability to program in qualitative coding software
• Must be available to work flexible hours
• Preferred: Graduate degree
• Preferred: Experience in data cleaning, table construction in MS Excel, and qualitative data coding
• Preferred: Experience in conducting interviews and authoring research papers
• Preferred: Training or experience in project management
