Research Scientist, PhD New Grad

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Create and sustain fraud detection models throughout the entire model development lifecycle, encompassing data collection and feature creation, labeling, training, experimentation, production deployment, and ongoing monitoring.

• Establish core models for Fraud and Financial Risk offerings.

• Investigate emerging fraud types and design identity-verification solutions.

• Refine models and incorporate new data sources along with innovative feature engineering.

• Develop production-ready code to facilitate real-time decision-making for partners.

• Conduct, execute, and present analyses that guide data acquisition, product enhancement, risk operations, marketing, and sales efforts.

• Work in collaboration with engineering, risk operations, and data acquisition teams to obtain data, ensure data integrity, and assist in data accessibility.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Statistics, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, or a similar quantitative discipline, or equivalent experience/research.

• Solid grounding in machine learning, statistics, or applied data science.

• Proficiency in Python and familiarity with common data science tools gained through coursework, research, internships, or personal projects.

• Proven ability to analyze complex issues and develop data-driven solutions.

• Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate technical concepts clearly.

• A keen interest in gaining in-depth knowledge about fraud, identity, and financial risk systems.

• Capability to write clean, maintainable code.

• Strong attention to detail and a curiosity about real-world data challenges.

• Legally authorized to work in the United States.

• Must reside within the United States.

• Ability to excel in a fast-paced environment addressing diverse, high-impact, open-ended challenges.
