PhD Research Fellow – PQC, Mobile App, Blockchain

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Perform literature reviews and conduct critical assessments of PQC, NIST algorithms, blockchain technology, and mobile security.

• Aid in the selection and evaluation of PQC algorithms for use in blockchain and TLS 1.3 environments.

• Support the development and integration of PQC within a simulated blockchain prototype.

• Engage in the implementation and optimization of TLS 1.3 with PQC for Android/iOS banking SuperApp prototypes.

• Execute performance, usability, and security testing.

• Gather and analyze data regarding user experience (UX), latency, and resource usage.

• Identify technical challenges and suggest strategies for mitigation.

• Assist in evaluating regulatory impacts and formulating compliance guidelines.

• Document findings, prepare technical reports, and create presentations for projects.

⛳️ Requirements

• Doctorate in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.

• Solid background in Software Engineering.

• Expertise in Python programming.

• Familiarity with cryptographic libraries and APIs.

• Experience in API development and integration.

• Knowledge of testing methodologies and software development best practices.

• Practical understanding of symmetric and asymmetric cryptography.

• Proficiency in hash functions and digital signatures.

• Knowledge of digital certificates and PKI.

• Understanding of cryptographic key management.

• Familiarity with secure communication protocols, particularly TLS.

• Background in application and systems security.

• Capacity to comprehend technical documentation and scientific literature in English.

• Preferred familiarity with PQC; NIST standards like ML-KEM and ML-DSA; crypto-agility; blockchain/DLT; smart contracts; distributed architectures; microservices; containers; cloud computing; quantum computing; financial application security; mobile security; and SuperApps.
