Research Scientist – Human-AI Systems

📋 Description

• Create, implement, and enhance reusable pipelines that merge AI capabilities with expert judgment for the development of data and agentic environments.

• Conduct experiments to validate proof-of-concept methodologies and assess their impact on data quality, pipeline efficiency, and model performance.

• Present research findings effectively.

• Collaborate with engineering, data operations, domain specialists, and clients to transform research prototypes into dependable production workflows.

• Design and evaluate workflows alongside domain experts for the processes of authoring, reviewing, and refining data and environments.

• Work collaboratively with data operations, product, and engineering teams to contribute to the company's strategic roadmap.

• Stay updated with the latest research in data and agentic environment creation and implement best practices.

• Represent Snorkel's research through publications, blog posts, conference presentations, and customer interactions.

⛳️ Requirements

• Robust research background in AI, machine learning, NLP, LLMs, or related domains, with hands-on experience in developing and assessing new methodologies.

• Experience in building environments for AI agents within automated research, computer usage, coding, or professional domain workflows.

• Familiarity with synthetic data generation, human-in-the-loop workflows, reinforcement learning, agent environments, or model assessment.

• Strong skills in experimental design, including hypothesis formulation and conducting ablation studies.

• Knowledge of software engineering best practices, including clean coding, modular design, and version control principles.

• Ability to collaborate effectively with domain experts and translate their insights into actionable tasks, evaluation metrics, and reproducible workflows.

• Comfort with rapid iterations, navigating ambiguous research inquiries, and transitioning ideas from experimentation to production.

• A Ph.D. in machine learning, NLP, or a related area is preferred; equivalent experience in industry or a research lab will be considered.
