Research Nurse, Per Diem, Independent Contractor

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Evaluate trial protocols, Case Report Forms, supporting documents, procedures, timelines, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for daily trial activities.

• Interact with the Illingworth research nurse project manager, research nurse manager, site personnel, and Principal Investigator.

• Ensure accurate documentation and electronic data transfer while maintaining subject confidentiality, Good Clinical Practice (GCP), and data protection regulations.

• Participate in Site Initiation Visits and various multidisciplinary, project management, and client-facing meetings.

• Organize and conduct both on-site and off-site subject trial visits, ensuring adherence to protocols and SOPs during procedures, assessments, and data collection.

• Administer trial medications and ensure their safe storage, transfer, and accountability.

• Handle, package, and send samples while coordinating with courier companies and relevant organizations.

• Assist in identifying eligible patients, as well as recruiting and supporting participants in clinical trials.

• Document adverse events, serious adverse events, and Suspected Unexpected Serious Adverse Reactions (SUSARs) and aid in necessary follow-up actions.

• Report any suspected misconduct or fraud.

⛳️ Requirements

• Registered nurse with at least 2 years of post-qualification experience.

• Experience in research and clinical trials along with GCP certification.

• Familiarity with research design and methodology is preferred.

• Proficient in clinical nursing skills such as Venepuncture and ECG is advantageous.

• Ability to work independently and take initiative within a multidisciplinary team environment.

• Outstanding verbal and written communication abilities.

• Capacity to prioritize and handle multiple tasks effectively.

• Proficient in computer software, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint as a minimum requirement.

• Equivalent experience, skills, and/or education will also be taken into account.
