This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States, +1 more country.
• Perform comprehensive research, curation, and analysis of scientific data sourced from drug discovery-related academic and patent literature.
• Ensure precision and rigor in data curation and analysis while building databases.
• Analyze and interpret chemical structures alongside biological data.
• Assist in data research and curation across a variety of projects.
• Stay updated on the biopharmaceutical sector, including the R&D process from target discovery to commercialization, as well as the prominent players in the drug discovery and development landscape.
• Foster a positive environment within the Scientific and Data teams in alignment with the company's mission and values.
• Undertake additional related tasks as needed to support Drug Hunter’s Scientific and Data teams and their associated functions.
• Report directly to a Scientific Director.
• Eligibility to work in the employee’s location; Drug Hunter is unable to offer US visa/Green Card sponsorship or other related support based on the employee’s location.
• Proven experience in data curation, with a solid understanding of patent processes and patent databases.
• Capability to interpret chemical structures and biological information.
• Proficiency with ChemDraw or comparable chemical drawing software.
• Familiarity with spreadsheet applications such as Excel, Google Sheets, or LibreOffice Calc.
• Knowledge of scientific databases and cheminformatics tools including PubChem, PubMed, ClinicalTrials.gov, ChEMBL, SureChEMBL, etc.
• Basic understanding of regulatory agencies and their databases, such as the FDA.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills tailored for both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Proficiency in English.
• Ability to thrive in a dynamic, collaborative startup environment and address unique challenges across various disciplines.
• Digital proficiency with social media, software, new technologies, and platforms.
• Proven ability to quickly learn new areas and adapt in a growth-oriented setting.
• Basic knowledge of Python for data processing and automation is preferred.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (or equivalent) in organic chemistry, medicinal chemistry, or chemical biology.
• 3–5 years of experience focused on data curation.
• Experience in a biotechnology or pharmaceutical company is preferred.
