Research Assistant, Student Worker

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Assist in executing mixed-methods evaluation activities, which encompass interviews, focus groups, surveys, and observations.

• Aid in data management tasks, including cleaning, organizing, and preparing data for analysis.

• Conduct qualitative coding and thematic analysis under the guidance of the Faculty Principal Investigator.

• Support the quantitative analysis process, featuring descriptive statistics and basic trend assessments.

• Help with process mapping and documenting workflows and partnership dynamics.

• Contribute to the synthesis of findings that align with evaluation learning questions.

• Assist in creating reports, learning briefs, and data visualizations.

• Convert research findings into clear, actionable insights suitable for various audiences.

• Take part in team meetings, partner gatherings, and sensemaking sessions.

• Keep organized documentation and ensure that assigned tasks and deliverables are completed in a timely manner.

• Complete additional duties as needed.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Master’s degree from a regionally accredited institution, ideally in psychology, organizational leadership, public administration, or education.

• Currently enrolled in a doctoral program, preferably at National University.

• Required experience with graduate-level research methods (qualitative, quantitative, or mixed methods).

• Preferred prior experience in program evaluation, applied research, or community-based research.

• Preferred experience in education, workforce development, public health, or nonprofit environments.

• Strong written and verbal communication capabilities.

• Demonstrated analytical and critical thinking skills.

• Ability to collect, organize, and interpret data, drawing valid conclusions.

• Familiarity with qualitative analysis tools like NVivo and/or quantitative tools such as SPSS, R, or similar is preferred.

• Capability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a collaborative setting.

• Knowledge of equity-centered, participatory, or community-engaged research practices.

• Experience working with diverse or underserved populations.

• Ability to present complex findings in accessible formats for non-technical audiences.

• Strong organizational abilities and meticulous attention to detail.

• Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

• Student employees must be enrolled and attending courses.

• Student employees may be undergraduate or graduate students from any school or program.

• Student employees can be either full-time or part-time students.
