This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ireland.
• Assist in the implementation of Sylvera’s compliance framework in alignment with the ESMA EU ESG Ratings Regulation.
• Establish and uphold governance structures expected of a recognized ESG rating provider.
• Aid Sylvera in meeting its ongoing regulatory responsibilities.
• Collaborate closely with the global team to tackle regulatory challenges and ensure adherence.
• Counsel senior management and the board regarding regulatory compliance issues.
• Deliver regular compliance reports.
• Serve as the main point of contact with ESMA.
• Handle regulatory correspondence, notifications, and information requests.
• Keep track of changes in the ESG Ratings Regulation, associated Delegated Regulations, and ESMA guidelines.
• Evaluate the impact of regulatory developments on Sylvera.
• Create, maintain, and enforce compliance policies, procedures, and monitoring programs, including periodic evaluations.
• Keep records that demonstrate compliance to ESMA upon request.
• Identify, manage, mitigate, and disclose actual and potential conflicts of interest.
• Maintain a register of conflicts of interest.
• Provide training to relevant staff on regulatory responsibilities and policies.
• Oversee internal compliance monitoring.
• Foster a culture of compliance within the Irish entity and the broader Sylvera group.
• A minimum of 3-5 years of relevant compliance experience.
• Must be located in Ireland.
• Experience in developing a regulatory framework within a startup or scale-up environment.
• Proficient understanding of the ESMA regulatory framework pertaining to ESG ratings, including governance, conflicts of interest, and internal control requirements.
• Background in analyzing, assessing, and managing regulatory and compliance risks.
• Proven experience in designing and implementing effective regulatory and governance systems and controls.
• Experience interacting with a regulatory body.
• Strong skills in drafting, verbal communication, analysis, and stakeholder management.
• Capacity to work independently while collaborating with a global team.
• Knowledge of the voluntary carbon market and/or ESG data and analytics is a plus.
• Must have legal authorization to work in the specified location as required by the application form.
