Regulatory Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Washington.

📋 Description

• Conduct research and analysis of Medicaid, healthcare, legislative, contractual, and associated regulations.

• Act as a liaison with the state Medicaid regulatory body.

• Manage both incoming and outgoing regulatory communications.

• Oversee intricate audit deliverables and ensure the timely review and submission of regulatory items.

• Identify laws and regulations impacting health plan operations, including Medicare, Medicaid, ACA, CMS, and state Medicaid agency requirements.

• Analyze legislative bills for their effects on health plans.

• Prepare and distribute summaries of regulatory updates.

• Address non-routine regulatory inquiries from internal stakeholders.

• Organize cross-functional meetings and monitor the operational implementation of regulatory requirements.

• Collaborate with both internal and external teams, legal counsel, and regulatory resources on legal, contractual, and regulatory matters.

• Conduct ad hoc research and provide guidance as needed.

• Draft policies, procedures, and job aids for regulatory operations.

• Engage in external meetings with state agencies and stakeholders, documenting discussions, action items, and follow-up tasks.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare, a related field, or equivalent experience.

• Over 5 years of experience in compliance and regulatory roles.

• Proficient in researching Medicaid and healthcare regulations.

• Capability to interpret complex regulatory and contractual requirements and translate them into clear operational guidance.

• Excellent technical writing skills.

• Competence in managing regulatory communications and formal deliverables.

• Preferred experience with licensure filings, corporate governance, and contract management.

• Preferred background in the Medicare or Medicaid sector.

• Availability during Pacific Time business hours.

• Preferred experience supporting Washington Apple Health Medicaid managed care programs.

• Preferred experience in direct interactions with state regulators.
