Regional Workforce Development Consultant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Lead a regional workforce strategy initiative from the design phase of research to the presentation of findings and implementation suggestions.

• Examine labor market, industry, demographic, educational, and workforce program data to pinpoint needs and areas of opportunity.

• Conduct interviews, focus groups, workshops, and engage stakeholders, including employers, educators, workforce partners, and public agencies.

• Evaluate existing workforce programs, their delivery capabilities, partnerships, and performance metrics.

• Create a practical strategy, roadmap, and presentation materials tailored for public-sector decision-makers.

• Provide specialized qualifications and narratives of past performance for AlphaGov proposals when granted permission.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in leading workforce development strategies, regional talent initiatives, or labor market studies.

• Excellent research, qualitative and quantitative analytical skills, stakeholder facilitation, and report writing abilities.

• Background working with workforce boards, economic development organizations, educational institutions, employers, or public agencies.

• Comfortable operating as a 1099/project-based collaborator; predominantly remote with travel as needed for client engagements.

• Familiarity with WIOA planning, workforce innovation, sector strategies, or regional labor market information systems.

• Experience in translating research findings into actionable roadmaps, performance metrics, and funding priorities.

• Previous experience in public sector consulting or engagement with workforce boards, resulting in measurable outcomes that can be referenced.
