This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Iowa.
• Oversee and expand a network of Distribution Partners in the Midwest region.
• Manage the performance of existing partners while evaluating the region for prospective new partners.
• Ensure that partners comply with performance standards established through contracts and metrics.
• Confirm that annual Business Plans are completed by current partners.
• Keep track of competitor actions and end-user activities within critical markets.
• Collaborate across departments to guarantee access to Viking Pump resources for both partners and end-users.
• Achieve or surpass sales revenue forecasts for the territory.
• Conduct sales calls independently or alongside distributor sales representatives to foster important customer relationships.
• Relay sales call outcomes and action items to distributors.
• Oversee project activities, product offerings, pricing suggestions, sales strategies, sales calls, and lead management via the Sales Portal.
• Suggest new primary or niche distributors as needed.
• Complete and execute distributor performance evaluations and annual business plans.
• Manage OEMs handled by distributors, targeted A&E firms, and contractors.
• Formulate and implement strategies for competition displacement and growth.
• Provide field training for distributor personnel.
• Address territory disputes and commission divisions as per distributor agreements and sales policies.
• Cultivate relationships with distributor personnel and ensure they have sufficient resources for Viking Pump products.
• Offer insights on product ideas, market trends, territory data, growth strategies, and competitive intelligence.
• Participate in teams for new product development, marketing, and sales as necessary.
• Execute e-business initiatives with designated channel partners.
• Continuously enhance personal sales abilities through self-development programs and resources.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
• A bachelor's degree and a minimum of five years' experience in industrial field sales.
• Candidates for certain roles may need to qualify as U.S. Persons under ITAR/EAR regulations.
• Self-driven with strong organizational, planning, and presentation abilities.
• Proficient in selling and relationship management skills.
• Willingness to travel, including 50% overnight stays.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Computer skills, including experience with sales force automation software.
• Capability to navigate within an office and manufacturing environment, write by hand and keyboard, and perform general office tasks.
• Ability to communicate effectively through speech and hearing, both via phone and in-person.
• Visual acuity required for detailed work and computer tasks.
• Competence in effectively communicating with customers, suppliers, and all levels of corporate and company personnel.
