This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.
• Assist the Tessenderlo Kerley Crop Nutrition and Tiger-Sul sales team in increasing market presence and expanding markets in the Great Lakes Region.
• Assess plant fertilization requirements and advantages using TKI Crop Nutrition and Tiger-Sul products.
• Create and execute field testing and demonstration trials to enhance sales and marketing initiatives.
• Build relationships with academic and private researchers.
• Conduct site visits to evaluate research quality.
• Collaborate with sales, agronomy, and marketing teams to develop technically robust marketing messages.
• Offer technical support to customers and end-users for effective product application and positioning.
• Conduct research on competitor products and assess opportunities for licensing, acquisitions, and new product development.
• Collaborate with external researchers to support trials, validate product efficacy, and convert findings into actionable recommendations.
• Track competitive activities and emerging market trends.
• Enhance distributor and customer relationships through technical assistance, training, product education, and field-based troubleshooting.
• A Master's degree in crop science, soil science, or agronomy is preferred; alternatively, a bachelor's degree with 1–3 years of relevant experience is acceptable.
• A Certified Crop Advisor (CCA) license is required, or the candidate must be willing to obtain one within one year.
• Proficiency in English; capable of reading, writing, and presenting technical information both individually and to larger audiences.
• Familiarity with specialty fertilizer products, including nitrogen stabilizers.
• Understanding of the 4R Nutrient Stewardship Program, precision agriculture, and emerging fertilizer technologies.
• Proven experience in conducting agronomic research independently.
• Strong grasp of statistical analysis and experimental design.
• Knowledge of competitors’ specialty fertilizer products and services, along with familiarity with crop protection products.
• Insight into customer segments and their needs, covering crop production and input practices, suppliers, wholesalers, retailers, and growers.
• Experience in product evaluation, marketing, and product launches.
• Experience in creating training modules focused on product technical data, sales messaging, and sales team tools.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
• Willingness to travel frequently within the designated region, including overnight stays, up to 50% of the time.
• Capability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Ability to walk, stand, bend, and stoop for extended durations.
• Capability to lift, carry, and manage materials or equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Comfort with long-distance driving and operating standard motor vehicles, including farm vehicles, on rural and unpaved roads.
• Visual acuity for observing crops, reading instruments, and reviewing materials.
• Manual dexterity for data collection, note-taking, sample handling, and operating electronic devices.
• Ability to sit for extended periods for administrative, analytical, and computer tasks.
