Recovery Coach

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Illinois.

📋 Description

• Establish trusting, nonjudgmental relationships with clients rooted in shared lived experiences.

• Leverage personal recovery experiences to inspire hope, motivation, and accountability.

• Collaborate with participants and the Holon care team to create customized recovery plans.

• Connect clients with community resources, including housing, healthcare, employment, and transportation.

• Perform strengths-based assessments to determine client needs and objectives.

• Advocate for clients within the justice system, care system, and other pertinent environments.

• Partner with Care Navigators, clinicians, and judicial contacts for integrated care delivery.

• Stay updated on best practices in peer support and recovery-focused care.

• Uphold confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.

• Participate in new initiatives and engagement strategies as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• A person in sustained recovery with a minimum of one year of lived experience (highly preferred).

• Certification as a Peer Recovery Support Specialist (PRS) or Peer Recovery Coach.

• Certification as a Peer Recovery Coach or PRS in Illinois; national certification from an accredited agency such as NAADAC is also accepted.

• High school diploma or equivalent is required; an associate degree is preferred.

• 1–2 years of experience in a peer support role is strongly preferred.

• Lived experience or a close connection to someone in recovery is highly valued.

• Experience working with justice-involved populations is an advantage.

• Deeply empathetic, possessing strong listening and communication skills.

• Informed about the realities of recovery and the obstacles clients may encounter.

• Committed to upholding professional boundaries and ethical standards.

• Comfortable working in a remote, fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

• Availability for some evening work may be required.

• Must maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations.
