
Real World Biostatistician – RWA CMH Experience

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada, +1 more country.
• Design and implement studies that provide real-world evidence utilizing EMR and claims data.
• Develop data specifications, statistical analysis plans, and protocols aligned with key research objectives.
• Create and employ robust statistical methodologies, such as causal inference techniques, GLM/GLMM, MMRM, survival analysis, and random forest.
• Utilize trial emulation frameworks effectively.
• Construct external control arms and borrowing strategies.
• Execute data analysis using healthcare coding systems like ICD and NDC.
• Carry out sample size estimation and power calculations for observational and hybrid study designs.
• Collaborate with HEOR, Market Access, Regulatory, and Clinical Development teams.
• Transform complex analytical results into clear and actionable insights through presentations or study reports.
• Promote methodological innovation in real-world evidence, including the integration of machine learning where applicable.
• M.S. or Ph.D. in Biostatistics, Statistics, Epidemiology, or a related discipline.
• At least 5 years of experience in RWA/RWD analytics (industry experience or equivalent).
• Strong background in working with EMR and/or claims data.
• Proficient in healthcare coding systems (e.g., ICD, NDC).
• Programming skills in at least one of the following: SAS, R, or Python.
• Working familiarity with SQL logic and OMOP data structures.
• Comprehensive understanding of causal inference methods.
• Strong grasp of observational study design principles.
• Solid knowledge of sample size and power considerations.
• Capability to independently write cohort definitions using SQL logic.
• Skill in debugging data issues, such as time zero alignment and exposure gaps.
• Familiarity with concept mapping (ICD ↔ SNOMED ↔ RxNorm).
• Ability to convert statistical estimands into censoring rules and data extraction logic.
• Experience with RWE CMH.
