Rate Analyst

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Set up and verify rate configurations for new submetered properties.

• Review provider invoices for RUBS properties to confirm the accuracy of the initial billing cycle.

• Conduct tariff and rate audits within 60 days of a property's inaugural billing.

• Record audit outcomes and pinpoint potential savings and revenue opportunities.

• Keep track of rate adjustments across various service regions.

• Investigate new rate structures and apply them by their designated effective dates.

• Convert rate changes into concise briefings for Billing Operations, Client Success, and clients.

• Address escalated inquiries regarding rates.

• Assist in account reviews as the authority on rates.

• Enhance processes and spearhead rate-management initiatives.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 2 years of experience in utility rates, consumption analysis, reporting, or related analytical tasks.

• Proficiency in interpreting intricate rate schedules and tariffs.

• Previous experience in tariff auditing or utility cost recovery.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with minimal oversight.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Advanced Excel proficiency, including lookups, pivot tables, and formulas.

• Solid data analysis skills.

• Background in utility billing, submetering, RUBS, or utility management.

• Experience working across multiple states or service areas.

• Knowledge of state billing regulations, such as submetering and RUBS fee limitations.

• Familiarity with a billing platform.

• A resume along with a brief account of a time when you identified an error in a bill, report, or data set that others overlooked.
