Quality Assurance Tester

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in North Dakota, +2 more states.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and uphold automated test coverage, which includes unit, integration, end-to-end, and regression tests across Angular frontends and Symfony/PHP APIs.

• Preserve and enhance the frontend unit test suite using Vitest.

• Generate and maintain Foundry factories and test data to provide realistic development scenarios and ensure reliable automated-testing records.

• Conduct manual and exploratory testing when human insight surpasses automation.

• Manage testing through user acceptance testing (UAT), which involves crafting non-technical test scripts and scenarios for Product and stakeholder evaluation.

• Classify, document, and monitor defects with detailed reproduction steps.

• Validate fixes and ensure that changes do not lead to regressions.

• Collaborate with Development and Product teams to assess specifications and acceptance criteria, pinpoint edge cases, and integrate quality into solutions.

• Leverage AI tools to expedite the creation of test cases, exploratory test design, test data, and script authoring, while independently verifying outputs.

• Assist in defining and upholding quality standards, expectations for test coverage, and criteria for release readiness.

⛳️ Requirements

• An associate degree or equivalent experience in a quantitative field is required; a bachelor's degree is preferred.

• Relevant fields include computer science, information systems, data science, engineering, mathematics, statistics, accounting, finance, and economics.

• Strong aptitude for understanding and reasoning through complex relational data models, including schemas, relationships, foreign keys, and valid data states.

• Proven curiosity about business operations and the ability to rapidly learn unfamiliar domains by asking insightful questions and developing a robust understanding of expected outcomes.

• Capability to read TypeScript and PHP sufficiently to comprehend application behavior and assess the validity of test code and AI-generated outputs.

• Comprehensive understanding of the software testing lifecycle, encompassing functional, regression, integration, exploratory, and user acceptance testing.

• Strong judgment in assessing test quality, including the ability to identify tests that pass without meaningfully validating expected behavior.

• Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and adept at navigating ambiguity, shifting requirements, and frequent releases without compromising quality.

• Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to bridge the gap between technical teams and business users.

• Comfortable working with AI tools for generating test cases, test data, and scripts, or demonstrated interest and aptitude in incorporating AI into the testing process.

• Preferred experience with Vitest, Playwright, Angular Testing Library, Foundry or similar factory/seeding tools, relational data analysis, systems/ERP implementation, professional services, accounting, or advisory environments.
