This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Lead and oversee the testing of software developed by the project delivery team for utility clients.
• Develop test strategies and assist project teams in implementing changes.
• Champion QA best practices and spearhead automation initiatives.
• Direct QA efforts for high-profile projects that involve multiple work streams.
• Coordinate testing activities across various vendors.
• Generate test estimates, strategies, plans, status reports, results, risk documentation, traceability, defect management, and test coverage.
• Manage numerous tasks while upholding high-quality standards.
• Analyze intricate technical and conceptual information and translate it into understandable alternatives for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Adhere to PMO and Test Practice documentation, policies, and best practices.
• Engage with stakeholders concerning project objectives, targets, activities, and timelines.
• Provide daily and weekly testing status updates, including risk identification.
• Oversee the creation and continuous development of an automated testing framework.
• Suggest and lead initiatives for test-process improvements and mentor team members.
• Define, develop, and implement the product QA strategy across all stages of product development.
• Ensure the viability, functionality, and efficiency of testing tools.
• Establish and execute test strategies to ensure maximum test coverage.
• Coordinate the use and upkeep of testing environments.
• Create and execute test cases as necessary.
• Generate test coverage reports for every software release.
• Document detailed defects.
• 7 years of professional experience in the electric utility sector.
• 10 years of QA or equivalent work experience, including a minimum of 4 years as a QA Lead with implementation project experience.
• Familiarity with ADMS/OMS/SCADA/EMS software vendor systems such as OSI Monarch, GE Reliance, GE GridOS, and Oracle NMS.
• Comprehensive quality assurance experience throughout the Software Development Life Cycle, including both waterfall and agile methodologies.
• Practical knowledge of unit, integration, regression, UAT, performance, and automated testing.
• Strong project management and organizational capabilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work autonomously.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Systems Engineering, or relevant experience in systems development and/or QA roles.
• Must be a US citizen or permanent resident.
• Five years of experience in cybersecurity-related test development and new product development.
• Experience in QA for SaaS software that supports SOC 2 trust services principles.
• Background in a Testing Center of Excellence (TCOE) or Organizational Test Practice.
• Hands-on experience with tools such as BlazeMeter, OctoPerf, TcpDump, Network Monitor, JIRA, Confluence, Linux, Selenium, JMeter, LoadRunner, Continuous Integration and Delivery, Bitbucket, SQL, NoSQL, Splunk, Sumo Logic, and AWS.
• Experience with POC, acceptance, functional, regression, and smoke testing.
• Proficient in creating performance scripts.
• Familiarity with source configuration management and defect tracking systems.
• Experience in writing scripts to generate defect lists/job execution.
• Capability to define capacity and service-level metrics.
• Experience in building dashboards for system defects.
