Quality Assurance Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ukraine.

📋 Description

• Execute functional, regression, integration, exploratory, API, and post-deployment testing across web-based applications and associated systems.

• Analyze user stories, requirements, and acceptance criteria, providing feedback to enhance clarity, completeness, and testability.

• Create and maintain test cases, checklists, scenarios, test plans, and other documentation related to quality assurance.

• Identify, document, prioritize, and monitor defects while closely collaborating with developers through the resolution and validation process.

• Maintain and expand regression test suites to ensure consistent quality in releases.

• Perform release-readiness evaluations, post-deployment validation, and risk analysis before and after production modifications.

• Assess application behavior against established technical standards, requirements, and anticipated outcomes.

• Continuously enhance QA processes, testing methodologies, documentation standards, and quality-control workflows.

• Identify opportunities to automate repetitive testing tasks to boost efficiency and consistency in QA processes.

• Collaborate with developers, product stakeholders, and other internal teams throughout the software development lifecycle.

• Effectively communicate testing status, defects, risks, blockers, and concerns regarding release readiness to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 3 years of professional experience in software quality assurance or software testing, with a strong foundation in manual testing.

• In-depth understanding of QA methodologies, software testing techniques, defect management, and the software development lifecycle.

• Proven experience testing complex web applications across user interface, backend, integration, and API layers.

• Capability to develop high-quality test cases, checklists, scenarios, and accompanying test documentation.

• Proficient in using QA, development, or defect-management platforms such as Jira, Azure DevOps, TestRail, or similar tools.

• Working knowledge of CI/CD concepts and experience testing within integrated development and deployment environments.

• Experience working within Agile or Scrum development teams.

• Basic understanding of T-SQL with the ability to utilize data to support testing and validation efforts.

• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of documenting defects, risks, test outcomes, and technical information clearly.

• English proficiency at B2 level or higher.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Information Technology, or a related technical field, or equivalent professional experience (preferred).

• Experience in developing or maintaining automated test cases, scripts, or testing frameworks (preferred).

• Familiarity with API-testing tools and methodologies (preferred).

• Proven track record in contributing to QA process enhancements, test automation, or broader quality-engineering initiatives (preferred).

• Experience collaborating closely with DevOps or software engineering teams in a continuous delivery setting (preferred).

• Strong technical curiosity with a focus on improving testing efficiency, coverage, and release quality (preferred).

• Experience helping to establish or mature QA standards, documentation, or repeatable testing practices (preferred).
