QA Automation Engineer, Junior

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

📋 Description

• Ensure the quality of a technology solution that incorporates generative AI, intelligent agents, and application integration.

• Assist in the planning, execution, and automation of tests for web applications, APIs, and integrated services.

• Create the test plan and develop scenarios utilizing BDD (Behavior-Driven Development).

• Design and implement functional, exploratory, and regression test cases and scenarios.

• Develop, execute, and maintain automated tests for web applications and APIs with technical oversight.

• Aid in the enhancement of automated test coverage.

• Conduct REST API testing by verifying requests, responses, and error management.

• Carry out integration tests among components and services.

• Identify, document, and monitor defects until resolution.

• Perform retesting to confirm that fixes have been successfully implemented.

• Identify, document, and manage the resolution of failures using management tools.

• Engage in refinement sessions and help define acceptance criteria.

• Document test scenarios, outcomes, and evidence.

• Assist in the integration and execution of automated tests within CI/CD pipelines.

• Participate in Agile ceremonies and collaborate with team members.

• Support the validation of AI-driven features and solutions.

• Contribute to the continuous enhancement of software quality processes and practices.

⛳️ Requirements

• Fundamental understanding of software testing and Quality Assurance (QA) principles.

• Knowledge of how to create and execute test cases.

• Familiarity with functional, regression, and exploratory testing methodologies.

• Basic understanding of REST APIs and HTTP requests, along with experience using Postman or similar tools.

• Basic knowledge and practical, academic, or professional experience in test automation with tools like Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, or equivalent.

• Familiarity with programming languages such as Python, JavaScript, or TypeScript as applied to test automation.

• Understanding of Agile methodologies, including Scrum and Kanban.

• Analytical mindset, strong attention to detail, and logical reasoning abilities.

• Excellent communication and organizational skills, along with proactivity and teamwork capability.

• Eagerness to learn new technologies and develop test automation skills.

• Preferred: experience in API test automation.

• Preferred: basic knowledge of SQL.

• Preferred: familiarity with Git and CI/CD tools.

• Preferred: experience in executing automated tests within continuous integration pipelines.

• Preferred: academic experience, internships, or personal projects related to software quality.

• Preferred: interest in or knowledge of generative AI, LLMs, and AI agents.

• Preferred: familiarity with integration testing and microservices-based applications.

• Preferred: basic knowledge of Docker or cloud environments, particularly Azure.
