Test Engineer II

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and maintain UI and API test scripts.

• Document new test cases and update existing ones using Xray Test Management.

• Create and manage Cucumber test scripts to achieve over 80% automated test coverage.

• Enhance test coverage by documenting and automating test cases derived from production issues.

• Analyze runlists to pinpoint long-running steps or processes for optimization and tuning.

• Contribute to discussions on test case design and test planning.

• Actively participate as a member of a Scrum Team, ensuring accountability for commitments and daily progress.

• Address technical challenges with a sense of urgency.

• Collaborate with team members to ensure alignment on sprint objectives and maintain a consistent workflow.

• Work alongside Software Engineers across Scrum teams to uphold uniform Test Engineering practices.

• Utilize software design principles to develop maintainable UI test scripts.

• Conduct peer reviews of Cucumber scripts and provide constructive feedback for improvement.

• Estimate tasks and maintain a reliable throughput toward achieving sprint goals.

• Identify areas for enhancing test coverage and the automation framework.

• Integrate and uphold test automation within CI/CD processes across various environments.

• Define data, rules, and testing requirements.

• Create, configure, and manage test data.

• Set up and modify test companies for automation purposes.

• Share knowledge and mentor fellow team members.

• Promote quality assurance and test automation initiatives.

• Conduct manual testing as required.

• Collaborate with Product and Developers to clarify requirements and establish test strategies.

• Assess failing tests to identify root causes.

• Perform other assigned responsibilities.

• Adhere to all policies and standards.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent relevant experience.

• Over 3 years of experience in automating tests for a SaaS product.

• Fundamental understanding of Software as a Service.

• Experience in applying testing and quality practices such as Test Case documentation, Test Plans, Acceptance Testing, Regression Testing, Test Coverage, and Defect Detection.

• Proficient in scripting tests using Cucumber (Gherkin).

• Familiarity with tools including Xray, HP Quality Center, TestRail, Eclipse IDE, GitLab, Selenium, Postman, and SoapUI.

• Experience with programming languages such as Java, XML, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript is advantageous.

• Comfortable documenting and tracking project tasks within ALM tools such as Jira and Confluence.

• Proven experience working in a team environment of 5 or more software and test engineers in a fully remote setting.

• Familiarity with distributed version control systems like Git.

• Proficient in using Windows, Linux, and iOS.

• Experience in benefits administration is a plus.

• Ability to prioritize conflicting tasks and manage time efficiently.

• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

• Proficient in Microsoft tools such as Teams, Word, Outlook, SharePoint, and PowerPoint.

• Strong attention to detail.

• A solid sense of ownership and accountability.

• Committed to seeing tasks through to completion.

• Experience with AWS, Docker, Jest, SQL, and Liquibase is a plus.

• Capability to troubleshoot failing tests with limited information.

• Experience in defining, estimating, and tracking test automation efforts.

• Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and CI/CD practices.
