Backend Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Poland.

📋 Description

• Develop and manage scalable backend systems that support AI-driven production functionalities

• Create efficient inference pipelines and orchestration workflows

• Establish clear service boundaries for machine learning models

• Take responsibility for system health and observability, which includes performance monitoring, structured logging, alerting, and incident management

• Enhance latency and throughput by implementing caching, request batching, and response streaming techniques

• Work collaboratively with client and machine learning engineers

• Provide stable, high-efficiency APIs for both mobile and desktop applications

⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated experience in core backend software engineering in production settings

• Proficiency in Python and Node.js

• Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes

• Practical experience in building and maintaining high-throughput, low-latency distributed microservices

• Strong understanding of AI inference patterns, including LLMs, vector embeddings, and multimodal architectures

• Hands-on expertise in debugging and profiling complex distributed systems under significant load

• Knowledge of commercial AI APIs such as OpenAI and Anthropic

• Experience with self-hosted open-source models

• Production-oriented mindset with a focus on shipping, observing live system performance, and rapid iteration
