Purchasing Agent

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.

📋 Description

• Identify and source materials, gather and evaluate quotes, and negotiate pricing along with purchasing terms.

• Acquire materials in accordance with approved plans, takeoffs, specifications, and production timelines.

• Collaborate with estimating, design, factory production, and project management teams to verify quantities, product needs, budgets, and delivery schedules.

• Foster and maintain relationships with suppliers for structural materials, roofing, windows, doors, siding, insulation, drywall, MEP materials, cabinetry, flooring, and finishes.

• Generate and monitor purchase orders; address backorders, substitutions, damaged materials, and delivery challenges.

• Keep updated records of supplier contacts, price lists, purchasing documentation, and committed costs.

• Recognize opportunities to enhance pricing and availability through bulk purchasing and preferred supplier agreements.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience in purchasing construction materials for residential or modular homebuilding within California.

• Established connections with construction material suppliers and distributors in Southern California.

• Strong understanding of building materials, product specifications, pricing, and lead times.

• Competence in interpreting plans, material lists, and takeoffs.

• Excellent negotiation, organizational, and communication abilities.

• Proficient in Excel and purchasing or construction management software.
